I live in a pretty boring city. In terms of art, there's no eye-grabbing walls of color, murals, landscapes, or anything creative of the sort. Last weekend, I went out with a good friend of mine, Zaina, to an outdoor promenade and stumbled upon this: a "sewer painting?" I thought it was interesting, so I decided to snap a picture of it. Also, earlier today, I met up with another good friend of mine, Julia, and found another one of these "sewer paintings." This one I took with her wasn't really showing, but it was mostly our shoes #sorrynotsorry. I like their interpretation of the drains. One was a painting of an inspirational, one-line ballad, and another of a seascape with abundant schools of fish. Maybe in the future, I can paint a sewer 'area' of my own (I don't know what to call these areas where they paint it on, okay?)

Is it just me or is the current NYFW line up absolute fire?? None of my friends [besides, like, only my mom] like fashion. I feel like this blog of mine is a place to express this year's lineup, because (like I said earlier) is F-Y-R-E.

PSA: This is going to be a long post.

-

To kick off this long fashion post, lavender is predicted to be the 'it' color of the season. Honestly, I'm not hating this color choice because it's a feminine touch to any type of outfit expression. From a lavender clutch to a lavender blazer ensemble, it can be an elegant addition to anybody's closet.

-

Next on our list, we have pop-art and graphic artwork. Recently on the NYFW runway, colorful bursts of modern art was seen on pieces from shoes, bags, tops, and even leggings! Even during Milan Fashion Week, Versace featured this style on jeans, a dress, and thigh high boots pictured below. Very street style-esque.

-

A winter trend that's refusing to leave is predicted to stay in the summer! Check-print and plaid had prominently made its mark during FW17, and definitely left a hole in many wallets (especially mine, I have so much checked print, it's not even funny.) Fashion giants such as HM, XXI, Zara, and Saks Fifth Avenue picked up this trend immediately, and to be honest, I'm loving it. The checked print and plaid mostly range in shades of black, and can vary of course.

How could one forget the essential trench coat? From making appearances in street style coordination to the hottest runway designers, this sweet coat is making its presence shine above all. One designer, Céline, designed some models of trench coats and I'm LIVING! This piece is a definite must-have in a girl or guy's closet!

Fringe is here to stay, and for a while! Major designers such as Dior and Calvin Klein wowed fashion-going spectators of all kinds with the unique fringe patterns. I proudly rock a fringe suede jacket [almost always] and I never get tired of it. If you want to try something youthful, breezy, and have a fun touch to a bland outfit, then I suggest nothing *BUT* fringe!

I'm just gonna leave this here. The. Fanny-pack. Is. Back. Pass it on, whether you like it or not. From Bella Hadid styling her fanny pack over the shoulder to Kendall Jenner sporting it around the waist, it's a very versatile look that will definitely amp an outfit. This trend is making me want to buy, like 19 of them. Let's hope my wallet survives this SS18.

-

A trend that took almost 58 years to make a return, lo and behold, 60s florals! On the NYFW runway, Kenzo, Marc Jacobs, and Balenciaga styled this timeless print in over-sized silhouettes. Even playful designs such as a toned-down sunflower 2-piece set can add a sweet touch to any boring closet (specifically mine.)

-

As the saying goes, "Life in plastic, it's fantastic!" My personal favorite brands, Chanel and Valentino, created as what seemed something so effortlessly styled, but a disaster for me. Honestly, I want to look as care-free as their models on the runway, but I'd probably look like a packaged chicken. However, all jokes aside, the models below look fire!

-

As a light-wash denim advocate, I say this with complete honesty. Dark denim is in season and hooooooooot. Tom Ford, Fendi, and Chloe have shaken the NYFW patrons with these stunning looks. I might just get rid of my dark denim 'insecurity' and try a pair. Who knows? Maybe I'll like it. ;)

These were all the trends I had seen from hours of watching runways, and I'm pleased with this year's SS turnout! I sincerely appreciate these designers' hard work and creativity that they put into their pieces. Below are a few photos captured from the runway.
